DISTRICT OPENINGS
The following standing committees have need for the following chair people.
Functions
Directs and coordinates the efforts of the committee and individuals to organize district wide events to promote fellowship and sobriety for the A.A. community.
Grapevine
A.A. Grapevine is the international journal of Alcoholics Anonymous in print, digital and audio. Written, edited, illustrated, and read by A.A. members and others interested in the A.A. program of recovery from alcoholism, Grapevine is a lifeline linking one alcoholic to another
Newsletter Editor
Formats and publishes the District Newsletter according to district guidelines. Collects and edits Area committee reports, Area and Regional event flyers, and other items of interest to members. Prepares versions of the newsletter suitable for distribution in both print and electronic form.
Corrections
This position responds to requests from incarcerated individuals for information about the A.A. program. Also coordinates a pre-release contact service and a Corrections Correspondence Service connecting A.A. members on the inside with those on the outside and supports local committees that are bringing meetings into correction facilities.
Public Information
Public Information in A.A. is the effort to share with the general public what A.A. is and what we do, and how to get in touch with us. In support of these efforts this individual shares information about A.A. and anonymity with all levels of media by communicating directly with media professionals and helping local PI committees with similar efforts. Also helps coordinate the development of PSAs for TV, radio and digital platforms. Responds to requests from media and helps develop press releases.
Cooperation with the Professional Community
Provides information to professionals and future professionals about AA – what we are, where we are, what we can do, and what we cannot do. Assists Groups with establishing better communication between AAs and professionals, and to find simple, effective ways of cooperating without affiliating.
